Dylan Levitt explains what Wales boss Robert Page said to him during international break

Manchester United loanee Dylan Levitt has been told to keep doing what he is doing by Wales manager Robert Page.

The 21-year-old would have likely picked up his 11th cap for the Dragons in a friendly against Czech Republic last month had he not been robbed of that opportunity due to illness.

But the midfielder who is on loan at Dundee United still received positive feedback from his international boss during the camp.

Speaking to the Courier, Levitt said: “I had a few words with [Wales manager] Robert Page and he was saying to keep doing what I’m doing.

“He said they’re noticing me every week.

“It wasn’t a great time to get ill, with the friendly game [against Czech Republic]. I was hoping to be involved in that. But it’s about getting right and looking after your body.

“It was just a little fever. I came back up to Dundee on Thursday and trained lightly with the squad.”

The Manchester United academy graduate returned to action by starting in the Tangerines’ 1-1 draw against Hibernian on Saturday.

After a Gareth Bale inspired Wales saw off Austria in the World Cup play-off semi-final, Wales are now one game away from the World Cup and are on track to face Scotland in the play-off final, if Steve Clarke’s side manage to get passed Ukraine.

That rescheduled game is due to take place in June.

With the draw for Qatar already made and a spot in Group B alongside England, USA and Iran up for grabs, Levitt is hoping to get passed Scotland if necessary and upset Tam Courts’ Dundee United dressing room.

“I’m already getting a few comments [from the Dundee United players] about the chance it could be Scotland next.” smiled Levitt.

“But it’s all jokes – I take it well and so do they.

“The Austria match was amazing for myself, my family and the whole country. It’s just one more game now. We’re half-way there and the whole nation is behind us.

“Scotland would be a good game… an interesting one!

“It’s two good sets of fans and two really good nations fighting to get to a major tournament.

“I saw the draw and it’s a big chance for us to go through. To see your country at a World Cup would be a great feeling. My aim is to get into that squad come November.”
