Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek is back on the grass at Carrington as he steps up his recovery.
The Netherlands international has been out of action since suffering a knee injury which required an operation back in January.
Donny van de Beek shared an image via Instagram, with an accompanying caption which read: “Missed this feeling.”
Donny van de Beek back in light training
Donny van de Beek’s return to light training is a boost for him personally. This means he is doing individual work at Carrington on the pitch, but not yet joining his teammates.
He faces a race against time to be fit for the FA Cup final on June 3, but this is probably unlikely. Even if he is fit, Erik ten Hag would have to leave another player out of the squad to accommodate him, who will probably be sharper.

Van de Beek’s real focus is expected to be on being 100 per cent for pre-season, and for whatever the summer holds for him.
He has failed to convince at Manchester United since his 2020 move from Ajax, losing confidence after being regularly overlooked by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Last summer, The Sun reported that Erik ten Hag was shocked at seeing Van de Beek looking broken compared to the player he knew at Ajax.
Injuries have played a part in Van de Beek’s problems, and if there is a good offer coming in for him this summer, it is unlikely United would reject it.
