Manchester United midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has not won everybody over during his loan spell at the club so far – but his teammate is a fan.
It is interesting heading into this upcoming transfer deadline day with little expectation that Manchester United will do any deals, compared to the hectic transfer deadline day last summer.
Manchester United had a frenetic race against the clock to clinch a deal for Sofyan Amrabat, with the Fiorentina midfielder undergoing medical tests in Italy, before the move was agreed narrowly in time for the Premier League’s 11pm deadline.
Now, a few months on, one question many are asking is, ‘was it all worth it?’.
Amrabat’s performances have been lukewarm rather than hot. His best display came in the win at home to Chelsea, and he faces a big second half of the season to try and persuade Manchester United to pay the optional permanent clause to sign him this summer.

Sofyan Amrabat shines on international duty
Sofyan Amrabat is not currently with the Manchester United squad because he is away at the African Cup of Nations with Morocco.
He has had a strong start at the tournament, with the World Cup semi-finalists booking their place in the knockout phase, top of their group with two wins and one draw.
Amrabat was voted as man of the match for his latest performance, posing with the award after the game.
Diogo Dalot praises Sofyan Amrabat
Sofyan Amrabat may be away at the tournament in the Ivory Coast, but his Manchester United teammates are paying attention to how he is getting on.
Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka all ‘liked’ his post on Instagram, with Diogo Dalot reaching out to write a comment, labelling Amrabat a ‘machine’.

Manchester United will want Amrabat back full of confidence and ready to make his mark in the second half of the season.
It will be a battle for game time with Casemiro returning from injury, but there will still be some opportunities, with it unwise to play teenager Kobbie Mainoo in every game.
Amrabat will have plenty to play for. He will be battling to earn a permanent deal, and having a player with hunger and desire could make a real difference in the second half of the season.
