Raphael Varane‘s return to the Manchester United starting line-up has been one of the key factors behind the team’s winning run.
The France international has forged a strong partnership with Lisandro Martinez at centre-back, with Manchester United conceding only two goals in the last four matches.
Varane is also highly regarded by his teammates. Last week after the Leicester win, Martinez used social media to exclaim how much he enjoyed playing alongside him.
It’s a feeling clearly shared by Diogo Dalot, who lines up on the right side of defence with Varane.

Dalot hails Varane
Varane hailed the quality and togetherness of the United team and support, in a message sent on Instagram after the 3-1 victory over Arsenal.
Teammate Dalot responded to praise his teammate, showing his appreciation for the World Cup winning defender.

Dalot himself was good against the Gunners, even if he let Gabriel Martinelli slip past him for an opening goal for Arsenal, which was thankfully disallowed after a foul.
After that he responded well, and kept it tight, working closely with Varane to minimise any opportunity for Arsenal down the right side.
United’s defenders are giving supporters reason to have faith in the team’s back line again. The team is becoming difficult to score against, providing a foundation for success at the other end of the pitch, and manager Erik ten Hag deserves great credit.
