Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot has spoken about how the fans at Old Trafford can be key for the Red Devils on what is set to be an emotional night.
Following the tragic passing of Sir Bobby Charlton on Saturday, this will be the first game at Old Trafford since the United icon’s passing and it’s set to be an emotional night.
Diogo Dalot is one man who certainly understands the passion around the club and the former FC Porto right-back gave a perfect eulogy to the great man in the pre-match press conference ahead of the clash with FC Copenhagen.
Dalot, speaking to the Manchester United website, has called on the fans to spark the Red Devils and inspire them to the win that they so desperately need.

Dalot on needing inspiration
“It (the fans’ support) will give us a lot of strength, I’m sure,” Dalot said. “I think that these fans are known for that, as giving us the power sometimes when things are not going so well, to put us back on track and get us standing again and facing the challenge that we have during the game.”
The atmosphere at Old Trafford is set to be an emotionally charged one and it is during these occasions that the United fanbase really comes into its own.
Whether the United players will respond to this raucous atmosphere remains to be seen.

After giving some rather emotive quotes during the pre-match press conference, the right-back was asked about what netting the winning goal, in that style, meant to him.
“No, I think it’s the best way to do it, especially in away games,” the former FC Porto right-back said. “I mean, it’s a special feeling when you have a stand full of fans supporting you on a tough pitch and the way that we celebrate all together, I think it was the best feeling ever.”
United will need the Portuguese in top form tonight in what is a crucial Champions League clash against FC Copenhagen.
