Antony is going from strength to strength on loan at Real Betis.
After an underwhelming two and a half years at Manchester United, Antony was sent on loan to Real Betis for the remainder of the season.
The loan move has already boosted Antony’s reputation to a point there might be plenty of interest in his signature when the summer transfer window opens.
Betis may regret not negotiating a buy option since Antony has flourished at Estadio Benito Villamarin.
On Friday night, Antony starred in Real Betis’ 2-1 win over Real Madrid, after having a red card overturned from a recent clash with Getafe.
The Brazil international has gone from being a flop at United to a sensation at Betis.

Denilson hails Antony after resurgence at Real Betis
Former Real Betis midfielder Denilson believes Antony is shining in Spain because he is feeling the love from the club and their fans.
Denilson knows what it is like to arrive at a club with the burden of having an expensive price tag to live up to, having once been the most expensive player in the world.
On the other hand, Antony cost United a whopping £86million in 2022 before scoring just 12 goals in 96 games, and there has been a stark difference in his performance levels at Betis.
Antony has three goals and two assists in six games so far, which has earned him praise from manager Manuel Pellegrini and pundits alike.
Denilson believes Antony made the right decision by joining Betis on loan because he needs love to show his ability on the pitch. This is a suggestion that he didn’t receive that during his time at Old Trafford.
“It was the right decision,” Denilson told AS when asked about Antony’s temporary move to Betis.
“He needed love and attention to show his immense potential, and Betis is the best place for that.
“As a good Brazilian he needs joy to be on the pitch and at Betis he has recovered it.
“He has stayed very well, with goals and great play. He will give a lot of joy.”
Real Betis view Antony as the GOAT
Denilson hints at Antony getting more love from Betis as a factor behind his vastly improved form.
We can see from Betis’ recent social media activity that they feel there is a new GOAT (greatest of all-time) in town, with a cheeky dig at Real Madrid duo Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius.
Betis has shared a photo of Antony alongside a goat, with the following caption: “Mbappe? Vinicius? There’s only one GOAT in my books.”
It looks like they’ve given their social media admin freedom to put respect into Antony’s name and we’re sure the player will appreciate it.
