David de Gea has been pictured with new Manchester United signings Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen.

The Red Devils’ second and third summer signings played in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Wrexham at Carrington this afternoon.

The 30-year-old playmaker opened the scoring in the 4-1 win against the National League side.

Also part of Erik ten Hag’s starting line-up was World Cup winner and former Real Madrid man Raphael Varane.

With club captain Harry Maguire watching on alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford, the former Ajax manager could well have deployed the Argentina international alongside Varane at centre-back.

Martinez’s move to United from Eredivisie champions Ajax was completed two hours before the Reds played against the non-league side.

While Eriksen’s free transfer move was officially announced yesterday.

United’s number one keeper De Gea posted a picture of him alongside the club’s two new signings on his Instagram account.

Like the Manchester United fanbase, the Spaniard is clearly delighted that the Reds have completed the signings of the pair.

De Gea will be hoping to establish a solid partnership and understanding with the Argentine if Ten Hag chooses to deploy the 24-year-old in the backline.

While Eriksen scored two times past the former Atletico Madrid stopper during his time with Tottenham Hotspur.

De Gea could well have lined up alongside the pair against Wrexham, but if he didn’t the trio could start a game together for the first time in Olso, Norway, on Saturday when we face Diego Simeone’s Atletico in a pre-season friendly.

With Ten Hag likely to choose his strongest team for the clash against the La Liga giants, De Gea, Martinez and Eriksen will be expected to form part of the Norway travelling party.
