David De Gea has sent his support to new Manchester United signing Sergio Reguilon having completed his move from Tottenham Hotspur.

United were busy on deadline day having announced not one, not two, not three but four new signings.

Goalkeeper Altay Bayindir secured his move from Fenerbahce whilst the day ended with a late deal for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Sandwiched between them was a loan move for Tottenham left back Sergio Reguilon, who arrives until the end of the season, whilst Jonny Evans has come in on a free transfer.

United wanted additional left back cover following the injury suffered by Luke Shaw, with Tyrell Malacia still out.

Reguilon arrives to help United but there is a break clause in the deal, which could see him return to Tottenham in January.

David De Gea sends message to Sergio Reguilon

Reguilon has now taken to Instagram to celebrate his move, stating that he is ‘very happy’ to be a United player.

The Spaniard received replies for a number of players, including former United stopper David De Gea.

Reguilon and De Gea have been Spanish international teammates in the past, but only ever played twice together.

De Gea has now stated ‘dale’ to Reguilon, which translates to ‘go ahead’ or ‘go for it’ in English; basically, a phrase of encouragement in Spanish.

De Gea may have left United this summer but he will be cheering Reguilon on as he looks to make an impact at Old Trafford.

There was also a message from Alvaro Morata, who has played alongside Reguilon with Atletico Madrid and Spain.

Morata offered fire and love heart emojis, sending his support to Reguilon as he looks to get his career back on track.

Reguilon should have chances to shine for Manchester United

The last couple of years have been tough for Reguilon.

The former Real Madrid talent just wasn’t fancied by Antonio Conte at Tottenham and headed to Atletico Madrid on loan.

Reguilon failed to make an impact there though, managing only two La Liga starts before heading back to Spurs.

Unwanted under Ange Postecoglou too, Reguilon now heads to United in an attempt to get his career back on track.

The absences of Shaw and Malacia pave the way for Reguilon to make an impact; it’s now over to him to justify Erik ten Hag’s faith.
