David de Gea is finding his future at Manchester United is increasingly under pressure.
If there is one word to sum up the Manchester United goalkeeper position right now, it is ‘uncertainty’.
A report from The MEN attempts to shed some light on the situation, and it is bad news for David de Gea.
The report states Manchester United want to sign a ‘new number one’, and that there is an increasing push behind the scenes to move on from David de Gea entirely.

David de Gea future in doubt
Manchester United released a statement last week on the club’s retained list which read: “discussions remain open with David De Gea over a potential new contract.”
However, there is no guarantee that if De Gea does stay, he will remain number one.
And for De Gea, this would be a bitter pill to swallow, having been a regular first choice at Old Trafford for more than a decade.
As last season’s Golden Glove winner, he feels he warrants retention as first choice, however, most supporters would disagree.
De Gea’s act has worn thin by this point, with his once superb shot-stopping now increasingly inconsistent, highlighted by his weak attempt to keep out the FA Cup final winner.
The goalkeeper’s passing is one of his weak points, and it’s no coincidence to see United linked to three of the best ball-playing goalkeepers in Europe, with Diogo Costa, Andre Onana and David Raya.
The Mirror reported last week De Gea is expected to leave the club at the end of the month when his deal expires.
But even if he stays, his spot is not guaranteed, no matter what number he wears on the back of his shirt.
