David de Gea may be arguably set to upgrade from Manchester United, with one of Europe’s top clubs having ‘made contact’ with his camp.
David de Gea officially left Manchester United at the beginning of July, with the club ultimately making the decision not to extend his contract, thus letting the Spaniard leave on a free.
Andre Onana was brought in as his replacement, with Erik ten Hag seemingly wanting to change how United operate with a keeper that is competent with his feet along with his shot-stopping ability.
Now de Gea is without a club but is on the hunt for one. He may have just struck gold with the latest side that may acquire his signature.

De Gea has interest from Bayern Munich
According to Fabrizio Romano – David De Gea has interest from Bayern Munich. The German side made contact with de Gea’s camp one week ago.
The Italian journalist also revealed that Bayern targeted the Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, who they contacted as well as de Gea a week ago.
Neither of these keepers were their top target though. Bayern were desperate to sign David Raya from Brentford, but Romano has just confirmed that that deal is now off.
MORE UNITED STORIES
If de Gea were to move to Bayern… this is arguably an upgrade on Manchester United! He would land firmly on his feet. Even if this doesn’t materialise – he has backup options.
Saudi clubs also showing interest
Romano also reported that he has two important bids from Saudi – as talks are ongoing.
This would be a worse standard of football for the veteran keeper. But it would also mean a huge payout towards the end of his career.
De Gea will play a key part in the goalkeeper ‘domino effect’ over the next few weeks. This will see lots of shot-stoppers trade clubs.
Let’s see what happens with Dave over the rest of the transfer window.
