Manchester United’s goalkeeper David De Gea has been named on the shortlist for the FIFA 23 Community Team of the Season (TOTS), following his fine performances for the Red Devils this season.
The Spaniard has been, once again, an integral part of the Manchester United side throughout the duration of the season. The four-time player of the year at United has started a monumental 42 games far, which have included some stellar performances.
However – he has come under major scrutiny for his distribution, which is now a huge part of a keeper’s game. Nevertheless, he does make up for this with his shot-stopping, which is up there with the best in the world.
The guys at EA have decided to reward Dave’s performances with a spot on the list of nominees for their ‘Community TOTS’ squad. More on this is below.
TOTS David De Gea?
The ‘Community TOTS’ is a group of players in FIFA 23 that have not received an in-form item throughout the duration of the game, but have been massively consistent for their respected clubs and deserve a massively boosted card.
Some may say De Gea is controversially picked to be chosen for this feat, given the scrutiny he’s come under – however, a man that’s currently leading the Golden Glove race for the Premier League can’t really be disputed.
He is definitely the best-rated goalkeeper in the voting group, so it’s highly likely that we’ll see the card come out as the winner.
There will be plenty of United players included in the Premier League TOTS – with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Casemiro and Luke Shaw heavy favourites to feature.
