Everybody connected with Manchester United loves it when the team beat rivals City, and there is something sweeter about winning at The Etihad.
Manchester United pulled off a ‘Sir Alex Ferguson inspired‘ late comeback against City to earn a statement victory under Ruben Amorim.
This was a second Premier League win for Amorim, with the other coming at home to Everton.
While Everton’s subsequent 0-0 draw at Arsenal has made United’s 4-0 win against the Toffees look a little more impressive, the 2-1 win against rivals City was a real statement.

David Beckham reacts
Manchester United legend Paul Scholes posted an expletive reaction to the team’s dramatic late win, showing his excitement.
David Beckham was a little more self-controlled, pointing to the magnitude of the victory.
Beckham wrote: “And the rebuild begins. Big win.”
Notably, he added: “Big team win with players who wanna wear this jersey.”
Some might take that as a dig at two players who were dropped for the game – but that might be a leap.
Beckham was most likely pointing to the players who did play, acknowledging their team spirit and passion to keep fighting for the victory.
United kept going and believed they could turn the game around, and got their rewards in the end, with Bruno Fernandes and Amad on the scoresheet.

Edwin van der Sar impressed too
Former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar expressed his excitement at the Red Devils victory too.
Posting on X, Van der Sar wrote: “Get innnnn!”, after seeing Amad’s dramatic late winning goal.
The good vibes seem to be coming back to Manchester United. Winning away at City will do that. Now it is crucial for Ruben Amorim to try and keep them, by winning the upcoming Carabao Cup quarter final this week.
