Danny Welbeck grew up playing and supporting Manchester United. But since his departure he has been nothing but a thorn in United’s side.
Welbeck left United for Arsenal in 2014, in a £17 million move, and has since played for both Watford and Brighton.
Welbeck has went on to have a decent career scoring 16 international goals in 42 appearances for England. He also has 60 Premier League goals with 36 assists, in what has been a solid career.
However since his departure, Welbeck has thoroughly enjoyed playing against the Red Devils. The boyhood red has scored four goals in 11 appearances across his three clubs which far outbalances his career average.

Welbeck speaking with The Athletic has insisted that playing United is no longer a ‘weird’ feeling for him.
“I’ve played a few times against United and it’s not as weird as it used to be.” Welbeck said.
He continued, “It was worse when I was going to Old Trafford. You go to the outside locker room, you warm up with a other side of the pitch, weird little things like that.”
To add to this bleak reading, Brighton have beaten United twice on the bounce. At Wembley Welbeck will be hoping to make it three.
Welbeck’s United career
The striker was signed by United as a six-year-old, while playing for Fletcher Moss Rangers. He joined in the 2005/06 season debuting for the under 18s in April 2006.
Welbeck made his way through United’s youth teams before making his competitive first team debut in September 2008; in the third round of the League cup.

He went on to help the club win the League Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in his first year in the first-team. He also won a Premier League title in 2012/13 in Sir Alex Fergusons’ final season.
Welbeck made 142 appearances for United scoring 29 goals and assisting 21 prior to his departure to the North London and the Gunners. Welbeck was quite a fan favourite being an academy boy, however Louis van Gaal clearly didn’t see the hype, shipping him out in the first summer of the van Gaal era.
Now part of this exciting Brighton side, Welbeck will be hoping to help them reach an FA Cup final which would be a monumental achievement for the Seagulls.
