Daniel James has left Manchester United to join Leeds on transfer deadline day.
The Welshman’s exit has been confirmed on the same day Cristiano Ronaldo’s comeback was formalised.
He gave an interview to Sky Sports News at 4.22pm once the deal was done, where he sent a goodbye message to United.
“For my football career, it was completely the right decision,” said James.
“Don’t get me wrong, I had an unbelievable time there; I made great friends, the staff and the fans were amazing to me.
“For me it’s my time to move on career-wise. I’m delighted that everything is over the line now.”

Marcus Rashford also sent a farewell message to James after the news of his exit was confirmed.
James was a popular member of the squad, but the move makes sense for him, to go somewhere he can play more regularly.
Orta thrilled to get his man
James almost joined Leeds in January 2019, but the deal fell apart at the very last minute.
He then joined United the following summer but there has always been interest from Elland Road ever since.
And Victor Orta told Leeds’ official website how pleased he is to finally get his man: “I have to say a huge thank you to my team firstly.
“The football department have been monitoring Daniel for a number of years and every member of my team has worked hard to get this deal over the line.
“It is no secret that Daniel is a player we have been keen to acquire for a number of years and today we achieved our goal.
“As a player we feel Daniel is an excellent fit for a Marcelo Bielsa team, he is quick, direct and works hard – we look forward to him joining up with the squad, finally!”
