Daley Blind reacts to Manchester United announcing Erik ten Hag as manager
Manchester United have confirmed Erik ten Hag as manager and reaction is quickly filtering through.
Among the first to react on social media was current Ajax star and former Manchester United ace, Daley Blind.
Blind is actually the second most expensive signing Ten Hag has made, behind Sebastien Haller, when he signed him from United in 2018.
The defender still has a key part to play this season as he pushes to win a third Eredivisie title in the final month of the season for Ten Hag’s side.
- INSIGHT: Erik ten Hag worked for two years at Bayern Munich II, learning from first team boss Pep Guardiola.
- IMPACT: After a spell at Utrecht, Ten Hag was hired by Ajax and within 18 months had led them to a Champions League semi-final.
- TROPHIES: Ten Hag has won two Eredivisie titles with Ajax and two KNVB Cups, and hopes to win a third title this season.
- GOALS: Ajax have scored 85 goals in the league this season and conceded only 15 in 29 matches.
United have been searching for a new manager since sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November.
Ralf Rangnick has been the club’s interim boss, and he will have a role as consultant, supporting Ten Hag.
It has been a slog to get to this point, with performances on the pitch far below par, and Ten Hag can’t settle in quickly enough.
For now we will have to be a little bit patient, another month won’t hurt too much, hopefully.
