Part of the appeal of bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back to Manchester United was his impact on the club’s young talents.
None of the young forwards on the books have taken advantage and taken strides in the same way as Anthony Elanga, who is enjoying a breakthrough season.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Elanga has said that Ronaldo has helped him a lot, always offering advice on how to improve.
He also said that Ronaldo’s Portugal compatriot Bruno Fernandes speaks to him every day to guide him through the early part of his journey as a United player.

“It’s really good [to have Ronaldo as a mentor] because I go to training quite early and see him there,” he said.
“If we have had a game the day before, we’ll speak about the game or training. He’s a really good person to have around the building, not just because of what he does on the pitch, but what he does off the pitch as well.
“If we (younger players) need any help we can speak to him, so he’s a really good person to be around.”
“I feel comfortable [on the pitch] because I get the likes of Bruno [Fernandes] speaking to me every day, and on the pitch as well, which helps calm me down and stay relaxed when I have the ball.”

Elanga, Ronaldo and Fernandes were all in World Cup 2022 qualification play-off action on Thursday night.
Elanga made his senior Sweden debut as they made it through to their play-off final with an extra-time 1-0 victory over Czech Republic.
They will face Poland on 29 March.
Ronaldo and Fernandes also endured a tense night, with Turkey missing a penalty at 2-1 down against Portugal, who went on to secure passage to the final against North Macedonia, who stunned Italy.
