The twenty-time league champions will be looking to make it three wins in a row in response to the 6-3 demolition we suffered at the hands of fierce rivals Manchester City at the start of the month.

Fresh after scoring his 700th goal in club football, which proved to the winner at Goodison Park, Cristiano Ronaldo starts his fourth Europa League game in a row.

The former Ajax manager has made three changes to the side that beat Everton 2-1 on Sunday night.

Tyrell Malacia, Fred and Ronaldo come in for Luke Shaw, Christian Eriksen and Anthony Martial.

United’s gaffer has already stressed the importance of making sure we do the double over Lennon’s side to maintain pace with La Liga side Real Sociedad, who beat us 1-0 at Old Trafford on matchday one.

Injured quartet Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Donny van de Beek and Martial were all ruled out of our fourth Group E game.

Tonight’s encounter is our first home game in five weeks with our last match at the Theatre of Dreams being the 3-1 win against Arsenal at the start of September.

With Newcastle United to come on Sunday, five of our next six games, including tonight’s European clash, will see us play in front of our home fans.

Ten Hag’s side have ten matches before the domestic season is paused ahead of the World Cup, which kicks off in Qatar in November.

Manchester United’s last match before our international contingent head over to the Middle East is away to Fulham on Sunday, 13 November.
