Confirmed Manchester United line-up vs Chelsea

Ralf Rangnick has selected his Manchester United line-up to face Chelsea in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford this evening.

Rangnick has made one change to the side that lost 3-1 at the Emirates on Saturday and that was an enforced change due to Jadon Sancho being ruled out with tonsillitis.

Marcus Rashford comes into the side in place of his fellow England international, but the Reds have an injection of youth in their squad due to the number of injuries to first team players.

The reverse clash between the two sides at Stamford Bridge in November finished 1-1 with Sancho opening the scoring with his first Premier League goal for Manchester United.

The former Borussia Dortmund man capitalised on Jorginho’s sloppy touch before slotting the ball passed Edouard Mendy.

Jorginho did redeem himself by scoring the equaliser from the penalty spot after Aaron Wan-Bissaka fouled Thiago Silva.

With Michael Carrick in caretaker charge for the clash in west London, the former United midfielder decided to start Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench.

Ronaldo, who scored United’s goal against Arsenal, starts against Chelsea tonight and will be looking to score a third hat-trick at the Theatre of Dreams in as many games.

If United win, lose or draw against Tuchel’s Blues in their penultimate game of the season at home they will remain sixth in the table with three top-flight games left to be played before Erik ten Hag takes the reins at the end of the campaign.
