Manchester United face Manchester City this afternoon at the Etihad Stadium in the second Manchester derby of the season.

The Red Devils will be hoping to avenge the 2-0 defeat to Pep Guardiola’s side at Old Trafford, which came back in November when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was in charge.

The defeat to the Citizens proved to be the Norwegian’s last home game in charge of the Reds.

Interim boss Ralf Rangnick has selected his United starting line-up for the game against the reigning Premier League champions.

Here is the line-up….

You can see how the side the German has picked in his first experience of Manchester derby compares to our predicted line-up here.

Edinson Cavani, Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane are the notable absentees from the Manchester United squad to face our noisy neighbours.

With Cavani and Varane unavailable it means that the experienced pair have missed both the clashes against City so far this season.

However, the positive news is Scott McTominay is back amongst the first team fold after missing the last two games due to illness.

Jadon Sancho, the former Manchester City man, will play at the Etihad for the first time in his career.

At the time of the line-ups for the 4.30pm kick-off being released, United had dropped down to fifth place in the Premier League table, due to Arsenal leading Watford 3-1.
