Christian Pulisic could be Ed Woodward's dream Manchester United signing

Manchester United are being linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic.
The Sun report via Sport Bild in Germany that United have entered the race to sign the 20-year-old. Pulisic is valued at £70 million.
Pulisic is an interesting name, and one who would improve United’s squad.
The signing probably appeals to CEO Ed Woodward more than manager Jose Mourinho.

Pulisic is a USA international and is being talked up as the biggest star of his generation.
United have put extensive efforts into ‘cracking’ the US market, heading there on pre-season almost every summer over the past decade.
Signing Pulisic would help make United even more marketable in America and rake in millions of pounds in shirt sales, recouping whatever transfer fee is paid out, and more.
American owners the Glazers would also be delighted to finally land their country’s star talent.

It would be a guaranteed commercial success and his wages would come relatively cheap.

The youngster would be tempted to make the move to Old Trafford.
Pulisic admitted his admiration for United earlier this year. “Yeah, I was. I was definitely a big fan,”
he told ESPN.
“Of course, right now I am under contract with Dortmund and I’m not looking around or doing anything like that so I’m very focused there. But, yeah, it’s cool to hear all this stuff!”

Will Jose go for it?

Pulisic, 20, is already burdened with his country’s hopes. A move to Old Trafford could be too much for him at this early stage.

Like Anthony Martial’s inconsistency, Pulisic would be an up and down player.
Does Jose Mourinho have the patience to add another work in progress? He needs proven winners now.
This season Pulisic has three goals and two assists. Last season he scored four times and provides five assists. United would expect more from him.
United could do with spending the money right now on players who might be able to make a more immediate impact, with defence a clear priority.

Perhaps most crucially of all, would Pulisic want to play under Jose?
