Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen is set to start individual training today following his World Cup exploits, reports The Athletic.
The 30-year-old couldn’t inspire the Red and Whites to the knockout stages and Kasper Hjulmand’s side finished bottom of Group D with just one point from their three matches.
Eriksen was back playing in a major international tournament after suffering a cardiac arrest in Denmark’s opening European Championship match last summer.
But despite their talisman returning to the fold and Denmark heading into Qatar in good form, last summer’s European Championship semi-finalists, who were seen by many as potential dark horses, flattered to deceive.
Christian Eriksen set to start individual training today following World Cup exploits

The report from The Athletic states: “United will decide when the players returning from the World Cup will start playing again on an individual basis, factoring in their mental state and physical fitness.
“Christian Eriksen, for example, begins training on Monday a week after Denmark exited the competition.”
Eriksen’s return to individual training means he could well form part of Erik ten Hag’s plans for the side to face Burnley in the Carabao Cup fourth-round at Old Trafford in nine days time.
United’s number 14 has made 20 appearances for the Red Devils since signing a three-year contract with the club following the expiry of his short-term contract with Brentford.
Eriksen has made 17 starts under Ten Hag and when the Scandinavian midfield maestro is fit and available, he’s often guaranteed to form part of the starting XI.
The 120-time Denmark international leads United’s assist charts with six across all competitions and he scored his first goal for the twenty-time league champions in our dramatic 2-1 win against Fulham, which was our final game before the World Cup.
Eriksen provided an assist in Brentford’s 2-0 win against Burnley nine months ago and he could well play a starring role against the Clarets in what is our first game after the World Cup.
