Christian Eriksen has nothing but praise for fellow Manchester United midfielder Casemiro.
The pair arrived in the summer and have been integral to United’s successes this season. However, both had had times on the sideline for contrasting reasons.
Eriksen suffered a terrible injury when Andy Carroll of Reading put a horrendous challenge on him in the FA Cup earlier this season, leaving him out for just under three months.
Casemiro on the other hand has missed fixtures due to his disciplinary record. Seven matches in total the Brazilian has missed – following two straight reds in the Premier League.
Eriksen raves about Casemiro
Now the duo are back simultaneously – which will be a massive boost to Erik ten Hag‘s side.
Eriksen has high praise for Casemiro, which was made apparent when the Danish playmaker spoke on a podcast with United’s media.
“In football terms, he brings a bit of calmness, a bit of movement of the ball on the pitch and a bit of awareness in the middle. A bit of control to the game,” the 31-year-old stated.
“Casemiro came in with his big trophy cabinet, the experience and the bad English! He’s a lovely guy, and, at the same time, he’s a winner, and he’s a lovely player.”
To have the pair back for the final push of the season is exactly what’s needed right now.
Eriksen is more than correct. Casemiro provides stability in United’s midfield like no one else. His ability to turn defence into attack is sublime and he is undeniably the heart of the team.
Saying this, Eriksen should also be appreciated. His return will definitely not go unnoticed. A fantastic passer of the ball and a man with a remarkable delivery – Eriksen was a fantastic acquisition on a free from Brentford.
Let’s hope they can both stay available until the season concludes.
