Manchester United have finally found a rhythm it seems, particularly in 2024.
Erik ten Hag is still unbeaten in this calendar year, thanks to some serious shifts from the first-team squad.
There have been some phenomenal performers, but arguably none better than the formidable young trio of Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund.
They’re receiving praise left, right and centre from pundits.

Nedum Onuoha on Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund
Speaking on the Planet Premier League podcast, Mark Chapman sat down with Cesc Fabregas, Nedum Onuoha and Statman Dave to discuss the weekend’s Premier League action.
They got onto the topic of Manchester United‘s young trio of Mainoo, Garnacho and Hojlund. Onuoha was the first to speak on them:
“These are young players who, right now for United are first choice,” the ex-Manchester City man begins.
“That feeling of knowing your first choice is very different from that of a player who might be getting a game every now and again. Now they can get into a rhythm, they can develop as players and learn the ins and outs of what is required in their team.
“Also, for as much as some people don’t like United, we’re seeing Mainoo play alongside Casemiro getting some nice touches in, nutmegs, moving the ball well, composed. You see Garnacho taking players on as a winger and you see Hojlund getting himself into the box, linking play well.
“They’re not being asked to do things they can’t do, and if anything we’re seeing them do other things really well. Those are three players who United fans I imagine you want to see on a week-to-week basis because their style of play makes you feel like you have something there for the future.
“But again, the biggest thing is that really promising players right now know they’re first choice.”

Mark Chapman then added: “They’re probably not far off the first three names on the team sheet given their form, Cesc – would you agree?”
The Spaniard responded: “100%. But this also shows the mentality of these boys.
“How much they want it and what they can offer especially now that things are going well. It’s easy, or easier, but when things aren’t going well, then how do they react to that?” he continues.
“It’s very important to go back to what we were saying before. What are the expectations with these young players at Manchester United?
“Man United is about winning but with young players, especially at the age they are now and how new they are to the system, how much time do they need to go on and become really good players for United and go back to winning titles?”
Can Manchester United win titles in the future with Erik ten Hag’s young talent?
Fabregas asks a good question, and our answer – is that United can get back to their best with these three involved.
Manchester United have always been a club that’s taken pride in their youth, and more so trusted in them. The same should be done with these three.
Mainoo, Garnacho and Hojlund will only get better with age and the more they play – so the prospect of future trophies is certainly a probable, and exciting one for United fans.
