New Manchester United signing Casemiro is set to be unveiled before kick-off tonight against Liverpool, report The Athletic.
The report states United are hoping to lift the crowd in a similar way to how Raphael Varane was unveiled against Leeds last season, a game the team won 5-1.
Tonight’s match against Liverpool will be tough and United need every possible edge. The move is also a play by United to try and quell fan protests and get fans into the stadium before the match, with some pledging to stay away.
Casemiro is awaiting his visa and is due in Spain this morning first for a goodbye ceremony at Real Madrid.

Casemiro squad number
Casemiro will take the vacant number 18 shirt, report Spanish newspaper Marca.
The 18 shirt is free after Bruno Fernandes switched to number 8 this summer, taking Juan Mata’s number after he was released.
Casemiro wore the number 14 shirt at Real Madrid. This was free after Jesse Lingard left – and recently taken by new signing Christian Eriksen.
The number 21 remains free, which United had had expected may be given to Frenkie de Jong if he joined.
This move remains unlikely, but with the Dutchman’s preferred number still vacant, it just keeps the door open in casr there is a late change of heart to add him too, alongside Casemiro.
