Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is the man of the moment after helping the club to victory over Bournemouth.

The Brazilian scored a spectacular volley to lead United to all three points, and spoke after the game about how much he is loving life at Old Trafford.

Casemiro was quoted by The National: “I am enjoying being in the Premier League a lot. I haven’t enjoyed so much for a long time and since I arrived at the club, all of the staff, the fans, everybody have been really incredible with me.

“I am trying to give them back everything on the field and give my best. It’s a really good experience for me.”

The goal moved United a step closer to securing Champions League football, a competition Casemiro has won five times with Real Madrid.

The 31-year-old has made 44 appearances for Manchester United all season, netting five goals. His one at the weekend might be the most important.

Casemiro praises Antony

Casemiro made a point after the game of spreading the praise around and discussed his fellow Brazilians.

He lauded Antony in particular, and also said that Fred has proved himself when he gets an opportunity.

“Antony has incredible quality. Fred hasn’t played a lot but he has always been giving the best when he has the opportunity to play. He has a really high level. They are really good players.”

Antony has had a slightly inconsistent season but has been a very useful addition to the team. When he is not involved, his absence is noticeable.

The winger is also at the start of his career too, only 23, and there is a lot more to come from him.

As for Fred, we may be coming to the end of the road. He has only started one game since the beginning of April, this was the match United lost to Brighton.

Erik ten Hag appears to have lost faith in him; at the weekend he played only four minutes in the win over Bournemouth.

Casemiro is happy to have him around – but he may only have one of his Brazilian teammates alongside him heading into next season.
