Manchester United star Casemiro and Al Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo both dropped heart-warming messages for one former Real Madrid teammate who will leave the La Liga club.
Casemiro enjoyed incredible success at Real Madrid before Manchester United agreed to sign the Brazilian midfielder in a deal worth up to £70m in 2022.
The 33-year-old United player lifted three La Liga titles, five Champions League trophies and a Copa del Rey during his stunning spell in the Spanish capital.
Casemiro also shared the pitch at Los Blancos with Cristiano Ronaldo at the La Liga outfit and later played alongside the United legend again at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo continued to add to his incredible legacy after Sir Alex Ferguson allowed him to leave United and he completed a blockbuster move to Madrid in 2009.
Madrid broke the world-record transfer fee at the time by dropping £80m to sign the 40-year-old Portuguese forward from the Premier League club.
Ronaldo became Madrid’s all-time leading scorer and the Al Nassr star captured two La Ligas, four Champions Leagues and two Copa del Reys with Los Blancos.

Man Utd midfielder Casemiro sent the perfect tribute message to Real Madrid captain Luka Modric
Both Casemiro and Cristiano Ronaldo shared the pitch with Luka Modric in the Spanish capital and the Real Madrid captain has thrived at Los Blancos.
Luka Modric is considered one of the best midfielders of all time and the Croatian midfielder lifted the 2018 Ballon d’Or award during his prolific playing career.
The Los Blancos skipper has lifted a plethora of major silverware at the Spanish side, including four La Liga trophies, six Champions Leagues and two Copa del Reys.
Modric’s illustrious playing spell at Madrid is set to come to an end in the summer after he represents Los Blancos at the FIFA Club World Cup.
Casemiro hailed the Croatia captain’s legacy at the La Liga club and the Manchester United star insisted that former teammate Modric is “already a Real Madrid legend.”
Speaking on his Instagram, he wrote: “My friend,
“What more is there to say of your goodbye? It was an honor [sic] to play with you and enjoy your football alongside Toni [Kroos]. So many unforgettable moments!
“You’re already a Real Madrid legend and this is how the Bernabeu recognized [sic] you. My most sincere respect.
“Thank you, Lukita!”
Man Utd legend Cristiano Ronaldo also made his feelings clear to former Real Madrid teammate Luka Modric
Luka Modric is out of contract in the summer with Madrid and the Croatia international will become a free agent after the FIFA Club World Cup.
The Ballon d’Or winner confirmed this month that he would leave Madrid, having signed for Los Blancos from Tottenham for a fee in the region of £30m in 2012.
Ronaldo, much like former United teammate Casemiro, dropped huge praise on Madrid star Modric for his glittering playing career with his former side.
Posting in the comments of Modric’s Instagram post, he said: “Thank you for everything, Luka!
“It’s been an honor [sic] to share so many moments with you at the club. Much success in what’s to come!”
Modric has made a whopping 591 appearances for the La Liga club and the Croatia and Madrid midfielder has scored 43 times and registered 95 assists for his side.
