Bruno Fernandes has told two Manchester United teammates they deserved to win the man of the match award instead of him.
Bruno Fernandes was selected as the man of the match by Manchester United supporters after the 1-0 win over Aston Villa.
He led the man of the match poll with 44 per cent of the vote, edging Victor Lindelof and Casemiro, who were second and third.
Ever modest Fernandes wrote on Instagram that one of the pair should have won it instead.

Bruno Fernandes responded to a message from Manchester United’s official Instagram account which lauded him as man of the match following the supporter vote, and he expressed his opinion that two players were more deserving.
Tagging Casemiro and Victor Lindelof in his message, Fernandes wrote: “It should be for both of you this one.”

Fernandes’ comment is part of what makes him such a good leader, always talking up his teammates.
His ‘great game’ was lauded by Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, who felt Fernandes was key to the team’s game plan.
He told club media: “The plan from a tactical perspective was to play him from the right to get runs behind and to pass behind. And he did that very well.”
The 1-0 win over Villa keeps United well positioned in the Premier League table, in fourth place, seven points clear of fifth with a game in hand.
