Eden Hazard announced his retirement from football after an injury plagued period at Real Madrid, Bruno Fernandes has sent him a message.
The Belgian spent seven years terrorising Premier League defences for Chelsea before making his dream move. An £88.5 million deal took him to Real Madrid and the grand stage of the Bernabeu.
245 games in the Premier League, with 85 goals and 61 appearances, but above all he was so aesthetically pleasing on the ball.
Whoever you support Hazard is one of the best of his generation and that is something Bruno Fernandes has paid tribute to.
Fernandes sends Hazard a message
Following the announcement, countless footballers’ paid tribute to the career of Hazard. One of which, the Manchester United captain.
“Thanks for all the good moments you gave to the world of football” Fernandes wrote on his Instagram story.
He continued, “All the real fans of this beautiful sport enjoyed watching you”, followed by a clapping emoji.
Clearly a player who has influenced so many of his peers due to his wonderful talent. This talent is something that United struggled to contain over the years.
Hazard’s record v United
According to TransferMarkt, Manchester United were Hazard’s joint most played against opponents.
The Belgian played 19 games against United, winning eight and only losing four times, with seven draws.
He scored five and assisted two against the Reds in this time, also getting four yellows.
United fans will remember best the man marking masterclass Ander Herrera put on him during a game at Old Trafford rendering him obsolete.
