Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has hailed summer signing Antony and says he wants to see even more from him.
Fernandes spoke highly of the Brazil international, who scored United’s opening goal in the 2-1 win over Everton.
The stand-in club captain believes Antony is capable of kicking on and contributing even more, despite his very impressive record of three goals in three league games.
Fernandes praises ‘amazing player’ Antony
Fernandes spoke to the club website about Antony after the win at Goodison Park.
He said: “He’s an amazing player. We knew the qualities that he had, we know that all the players up front have such good qualities and Antony is one of them – that’s why the club paid that amount of money for him so we are really happy for him, but we want even more from him.”
Antony has made a big impression at United early on, and this is reflected in Fernandes’ praise.
Fernandes says he wants more from Antony, because he knows he is capable of it.

While he has scored in all three of his league games, Antony has not quite taken over a match yet, and does not have any assists to his name.
This will come, and Fernandes will keep pushing him, as will United’s other senior players, and manager Erik ten Hag.
United look to have invested wisely with Antony which is just as well, considering the high amount of money paid. But when he plays like he has been, and contributes in a goal in every league match, the fee will start looking like a bargain.
