Bruno Fernandes commitment not in doubt
If there is any player who should have an extended break, then it is Bruno Fernandes, who played in 70 games for club and country for 2022/23.
United have eight pre-season matches, and there is plenty of time for him to get his sharpness back, but you know if the club needed him to play today, he would be there.
Instead today’s match against Leeds is a chance for Erik ten Hag to experiment, and see if any of the young players at the club can stake a claim to start challenging for his spot.
Fernandes’ commitment is not in doubt. Seeing him train in anticipation of his return to Carrington shows his mind is already focused on the season ahead, and it won’t be long before he is back wearing Manchester United red.
