Bruno Fernandes has explained what Manchester United must do ahead of what promises to be a big month for the Red Devils.
Erik ten Hag is beginning to feel the pressure at Old Trafford with the murmurs of discontent amongst the fanbase increasing as time goes on.
Manchester United have a hugely difficult month ahead of them with games against Chelsea, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Bayern Munich in a tough few weeks.
The Red Devils take on Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea on Wednesday with the Argentine hoping to get one over the Red Devils after being snubbed for the Old Trafford job back in 2022.
Fernandes on what United must do
Speaking to the United website, the current captain of the Red Devils Bruno Fernandes has opened up about what they have to do ahead of a tough month of fixtures. He is quite honest that the club is not where they want to be
“At the moment we just have to look game-by-game because we know we are not in the position we want to be,” he said.
“Focusing game-by-game is what we can control at the moment and we can’t look too much at the table.
“You can look too much at the future and not do the present right. We have to raise ourselves for the next challenge we have ahead.
“We’re not in the place we want to be in the league – everyone knows that. So if you want to get into that place, if you want to improve that position, then you have to win the game you have ahead.”
Fernandes has to step up
The Portuguese midfielder was simply not good enough for the Red Devils against Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
Despite being on the end of a nasty foul by Fabian Schar which somehow didn’t lead to a red card for the defender, Fernandes was not at the races after back-to-back brilliant performances against Everton and Galatasaray.
The midfielder has to step up in a big game, if Fernandes is in top form then the Red Devils will win the game but he just hasn’t shown that enough this season.
