No player at the World Cup is making a bigger impact on matches than Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes.
Fernandes now has two goals and two assists – with a brace last night for Portugal against Uruguay, after setting up two against Ghana.
His tally of four goal contributions is matched only by France ace Kylian Mbappe.
The difference is Mbappe has three goals and one assist – making Fernandes the only player to provide multiple goals and assists at World Cup 2022 so far.

Fernandes’ first goal was originally awarded to Cristiano Ronaldo – but FIFA ruled the forward had not touched the ball.
The two players shared a joke and embrace after the game, with Ronaldo showing his lighter side. He was on the bench and missed out on taking the penalty for Fernandes’ second goal.
Ronaldo did score in Portugal’s opening game, a penalty in their 3-2 win over Ghana.
Portugal have now already qualified for the knockout rounds, like Mbappe’s France, and so both players may be rested for the final game, where other players may catch up to them.
Fernandes is doing Manchester United proud in Qatar, and he’s not the only one. Casemiro has been on the scoresheet, as has Marcus Rashford, while both Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire have registered assists.
