Bruno Fernandes has always been a player who wears his heart on his sleeve.
It became a heated affair as Manchester United drew 2-2 with Everton on their last-ever trip to Goodison Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The early kick-off came too soon for United because Ruben Amorim’s side looked asleep for the first 70 minutes.
Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte scored two second-half goals to level the scoring. Still, Everton insisted they should have been awarded a stoppage-time penalty kick when Ashley Young appeared to have his shirt pulled by Matthijs de Ligt and tripped by Harry Maguire.
After pointing towards the point, VAR intervened before referee Andrew Madley had to go back on his decision. He had to look at the incident again on the pitch-side monitor before overturning his decision to the relief of United’s first-team.
David Moyes disagreed with Amorim’s assessment of the controversial penalty incident. It quickly became the biggest talking point of the match.

Bruno Fernandes touchline bust-up at Everton
It turns out there was even more drama at Goodison Park than what we initially thought.
According to The Telegraph, United captain Fernandes was involved in a touchline bust-up with Everton legend Derek Mountfield.
Fernandes is understood to have clashed with Mountfield at half-time as the players returned to the dressing room.
It caught Fernandes’ attention that Mountfield was playfully mimicking an elbow gesture towards the Everton players, encouraging foul play towards United.
It was only a matter of time before Fernandes took exception.
Things escalated enough for it to make a post-match report, but it doesn’t sound like anything other than a minor disagreement between Fernandes and Mountfield.
Fernandes came out a different player in the second half after being pushed into a deeper midfield role as Amorim found a way to unlock Everton at the end.
Fernandes inspires Manchester United comeback
The headlines may be dominated by VAR for another week, but another thing consistent is Fernandes showing up when United need him.
United’s reliable captain inspired the comeback by scoring from a free-kick before another set-piece saw Ugarte equalise with a half-volley to score his first goal for the club.
Amorim will be annoyed United gave away two soft goals in the first half because Everton are a team we should be beating.

Fernandes is often the player who saves United from trouble and his goal against Everton took him to double figures for the season.
