Manchester United lost again in the Champions League – this time in dramatic fashion.
It was a 4-3 thriller in Denmark, ultimately ending in the home side snatching victory.
It was a game that had it all. VAR drama, red cards and a last-minute winner. You can’t help but think that Erik ten Hag‘s side were unlucky.
It wasn’t the usual depleting loss. There were good glimpses throughout from the Red Devils, but ultimately it was defeat, which leaves a tall task for Manchester United to qualify.

Bruno Fernandes’ ten-word message following Copenhagen defeat
Bruno Fernandes had a message for United fans who now know this task is going to be a tough one.
“We have a mountain to climb, so we must climb,” Bruno told UEFA in a post-match press conference.
A mountain is definitely a comparable statement. Manchester United now need to win their last two games in the group, which are a daunting trip to Galatasaray and a home tie against Bayern Munich.
The Turkish side have one of the most intimidating stadiums to head to on the planet, whilst Munich are, well, Bayern Munich.
The only advantage United will have in that final fixture is the German giants will already be through, but they won’t lay down without a fight. We really do now have a ‘mountain to climb’.
Reminiscent of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer…
Sound familiar? Bruno may have taken inspiration from his former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Manchester United went into a second-leg Champions League tie in 2019 with PSG 2-0 from the Old Trafford leg.
A reporter asked the Norwegian manager in his post-match interview with BT Sport, “You have a mountain to climb in Paris now don’t you?”
Solskjaer cooly responded, “Mountains are made to be climbed aren’t they!”
Marcus Rashford scored an injury-time penalty as United staged an incredible comeback to beat Paris St-Germain on away goals in the reverse fixture.
Could Fernandes’ side achieve a similar feat? It’s going to be difficult.
