Manchester United duo Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot have been selected as part of Portugal’s 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup.

With just one game left to play and third place secured in the Premier League, several Manchester United players will be preparing to compete in the World Cup.

Most countries have yet to announce their squads, but Amad Diallo and Senne Lammens are examples of United players who will be representing their countries at the tournament.

It will be a chance for United fans to see how their players – and transfer targets – perform at a major international tournament.

Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot will represent Portugal at 2026 World Cup

On Tuesday, Roberto Martinez announced his Portugal squad for the upcoming World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Bruno Fernandes leads a star-studded Portuguese side that also has the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bernardo Silva, and many more in their ranks.

Fernandes is joined by United teammate Diogo Dalot in the squad, with the Euro 2016 winners set to face DR Congo, Colombia and Uzbekistan in Group K.

Martinez has surprised a few by selecting four goalkeepers in his squad, and there is no room for United-linked Mateus Fernandes, despite the 21-year-old’s impressive season at West Ham.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s sixth World Cup

Former United star Ronaldo will compete in a record sixth World Cup this summer.

The 41-year-old, who currently plays for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, is Portugal’s leading scorer with 143 goals.

Ronaldo is looking to win the World Cup for the first time in what will be his first attempt at doing so.

The furthest Ronaldo has ever gone in a World Cup is the semi-finals in 2006. He was just 21-years-old at the time and wore the number 17 shirt.

Portugal were eliminated in the quarter-finals at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
