Manchester United full-back Brandon Williams is “ready to kick on” after completing his first 90 minutes since April following his run out with the club’s under-21s.
The 22-year-old dropped down to United’s Under-21s for yesterday’s Premier League 2 clash against Liverpool.
The one-time England Under-21 international played the full match at left-back as Mark Dempsey’s side won 2-1 thanks to a brace from Joe Hugill.
Williams picked up a yellow card just shy of the hour mark having been adjudged to have dived by referee Lewis Smith.
Brandon Williams sends message to Erik ten Hag after completing 90 minutes for under-21s

Having started both of United’s winter friendlies against La Liga sides Cadiz and Real Betis after recovering from injury, Williams made his first competitive appearance under Erik ten Hag as a late substitute during last month’s 2-0 win against Burnley in the Carabao Cup fourth-round.
But despite Diogo Dalot not being available for the Manchester derby, Williams didn’t form part of the senior matchday squad to provide cover for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
With Ten Hag having three centre-backs on his bench, Williams dropped down to the under-21s to make his first appearance of the season at that level and to get some much-needed game time under his belt.
After United’s Under-21s beat Liverpool and Ten Hag’s men ousted Pep Guardiola’s Citizens which Williams described as the “perfect day”, the right-footed full-back was delighted to complete the 90 minutes for the first time in eight months.
Reflecting on completing the 90 minutes, Williams wrote on his Instagram story: “Buzzing to play my first 90 minutes since April, ready to kick on now and push myself.”
Our number 33’s last 90 minutes in fact came back in May during his season-long loan with Norwich City.
With Wan-Bissaka, Dalot, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia all ahead of Williams in the full-back pecking order, ESPN report that Williams could head out on loan this month now that he has shrugged off his injury struggles.
