Birmingham City manager John Eustace praised Manchester United loanee Hannibal Mejbri following the Tunisian’s performance against Blackpool.
Fresh after representing Tunisia at the World Cup in Qatar, the 19-year-old started the Blues’ goalless Championship draw against Blackpool yesterday.
Despite playing just ten minutes of football in the Eagles of Carthage’s three World Cup games, the experience of playing in the biggest sporting event will only aid and benefit Hannibal’s development.
Hannibal played 85 minutes at Bloomfield Road and he’s now started nine of Birmingham’s last ten matches.

Birmingham’s number six played in midfield alongside fellow loanee Krystian Bielik who played in all four of Poland’s World Cup matches.
Eustace reserved special praise for the returning World Cup duo following Birmingham’s draw at Blackpool.
Speaking via BirminghamLive, Eustace said: “Krystian and Hannibal were magnificent, they are two really good players.”
BirminghamLive also gushed about Hannibal in their ratings and they handed the former Monaco wonderkid the man-of-the-match award and handed him a rating of eight out of ten.
Their report on Hannibal stated: “The driving force of the opening period. One brilliant turn and pass put Chong in behind. Almost found him in the second half too. Picked up an avoidable booking but overall was the most likely player to unpick the defence.”
The 20-time Tunisia international created four chances against The Seasiders, which according to WhoScored was more than any other player on the pitch.
United’s all-action number 46 also made the most fouls on the pitch (4) and he picked up his fifth Championship booking of the season.
As a result of amassing his fifth yellow card, Hannibal will miss Birmingham’s clash against Reading at St Andrew’s on Friday due to serving a one-match suspension.
