Manchester United have waved goodbye to Fred after five years at Old Trafford. He is set to sign for Fenerbahce.
Manchester United confirmed Fred’s departure to Fenerbahce on Friday night and the midfielder flew out to Turkey yesterday to undergo a medical.
The Brazilian posted an emotional goodbye to Manchester United on Instagram, thanking fans, players, management and staff for their support during his time at the club.
While it is the right moment for Fred to move on, it was clearly an emotional moment for the midfielder to be departing, and he will be missed.

Brazil international Fred sent a lengthy message to his three million followers on Instagram. Here it is in full below…
“Thanks for everything, Manchester United Football Club.
“Today ends one of the most beautiful stages of my career. I lived the dream of wearing the shirt of one of the biggest clubs in the world. Going through ups and downs, I leave with the conviction that I always gave my best during all training sessions and games.

Reaction
Manchester United players and staff had kind words for Fred after his exit message. Among them was coach Benni McCarthy.
McCarthy wrote: “I’ll miss you a lot”, thanking him for his support and wishing him all the best in his new career at Fenerbahce.
Alejandro Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes and Tom Heaton were among the numerous teammates to reach out and express their admiration for Fred, who was a big part of the dressing room.
Fred played 213 games for Manchester United, more than any other Brazilian player in history, scoring 14 goals.
