Manchester United are being tipped to lose the derby at home to Manchester City.
It’s safe to say Manchester United have not been very convincing this season. The team has not won a Premier League or Champions League game by more than a single goal.
The highest ranked Premier League team Manchester United has beaten so far are 12th placed Wolves, back on the opening day.
So this weekend’s derby match against City is going to be a major test, and due to Manchester United’s poor performances, not many outsiders are expecting a win.

Chris Sutton predicts Manchester United defeat
It probably won’t come as a surprise to many that miserly pundit Chris Sutton is predicting a Manchester City win.
But the manner of the scoreline he is predicting is one to sit up and take notice of. He is forecasting a 5-1 away win for City.
Sutton tells BBC Sport: “From what we’ve seen so far, they are miles off – and I am expecting this game to prove it.
“I might give United a goal, because of their threat on the break, but City should still run away with it.”
He adds that City are ‘going to smash someone sooner or later’ and predicts it will be United, despite the Red Devils winning the last three games in all competitions.
His prediction for a City win is echoed by Paul Merson, who tells Sportskeeda he expects City to win 3-1.
Manchester United have a point to prove
These kind of predictions could age very badly if Manchester United go on to win Sunday’s game at Old Trafford.
And it’s extra motivation for the players to believe nobody believes in them to win.
United won the derby at home to City last season and the players owe the fans a big performance. Let’s hope its not the miserable type of game many are predicting.
