Bayern Munich supporters had a message to share regarding Manchester United’s takeover.

The future of Manchester United is still uncertain. The Glazers are entertaining a sale process at present, which is now dragging onto the third stage of bids.

Now with this as a backdrop, Bayern Munich supporters chose their visit to Manchester to share their own message regarding football governance.

During their Champions League semi-final against Manchester City, they unfurled a banner to make a statement.

Bayern fan banner

The banner displayed by Bayern Munich supporters called out the Glazers, and City owner Sheikh Mansour.

It read, “Glazers, Sheikh Mansour, All Autocrats Out. Football Belongs To the People.”

The prospect of Qatari investor Sheikh Jassim or Sir Jim Ratcliffe buying Manchester United from the Glazers won’t please them either.

Neither model are proposing fan involvement. Bayern are 75 per cent owned by supporters.

Bayern were beaten 3-0 by City on the night, a result which will only double down their supporter frustrations at their oil-backed owners.

Manchester United owners the Glazers on the other hand, do not put their own money into the club. They take money from the club.

The sooner we are rid of them the better. Bayern Munich supporters voices against them are appreciated, even if they may not like their potential successors.
