Barcelona 'have already prepared a farewell video' for Frenkie de Jong

Manchester United are hoping to wrap up a move for Frenkie de Jong shortly. We are now entering the final day of June, the date The Telegraph claimed on Sunday was one both clubs aimed to conclude a deal by.

Spanish outlet ARA also reported yesterday that Barcelona were looking to get the deal done as quickly as possible.

Barcelona ‘have already prepared a farewell video’

Now Spanish journalist Gerard Romero claims Barcelona have even prepared a goodbye video for De Jong’s expected departure.

A positive sign amid conflicting reports

There were conflicting reports on Wednesday regarding Frenkie de Jong’s intentions.

Spanish newspaper Sport reported De Jong was still having doubts about moving to Manchester United and could refuse to leave.

This was refuted by The Guardian, which reported he is now ‘open to joining’ Manchester United and rejoining Erik ten Hag.

The MEN report a deal is agreed with Manchester United and Barcelona, and ARA‘s report that the deal is ‘absolutely essential‘ for Barcelona financially gives a strong indication the Spanish club will insist the move goes through.

With Barcelona reported to have already prepared a goodbye video, their intentions appear clear. They won’t be happy if De Jong spoils a big cash grab for them, and nor will Manchester United if the deal were to fall apart at this late stage.
