Amad Diallo reacts as Ivory Coast’s World Cup journey ends
It was the Ivory Coast’s first time qualifying for the knockout phase of a World Cup, but they won’t see that as a silver lining right now.
Amad’s performance after coming off the bench before the hour mark suggests Faé made a mistake not starting the United star.
Not only did Amad bring a creative spark to the team, but he also scored and made a goal-line clearance shortly after coming on.
Amad took to Instagram after the match, sharing a photo of himself lying on the turf with his shirt covering his face, accompanied by a broken heart emoji in the caption.
This quickly prompted a supportive message from his United teammate, Ayden Heaven, who has had the summer off to recharge his batteries ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Heaven replied: “Goat bro,” along with a heart emoji.
Amad now has the opportunity to rest up before returning to United later this month for pre-season.
