Manchester United were given an injury scare when England under-20s took on Switzerland at St. George’s Park.
The priority for every international break is for every player to return injury-free. It’s a hard ask when modern footballers have demands to play so many fixtures every season.
Manchester United centre-back Ayden Heaven went down in the first minute and required extensive treatment.
Although Heaven was able to continue after the early knock, Ben Futcher decided to make a precautionary substitute at half-time, which meant he didn’t re-appear for the second half.
Heaven has been a regular on the bench for United this season.

Update on Ayden Heaven injury
Speaking after the match, Futcher admitted Heaven picked up a knock against Switzerland but stressed it is nothing serious.
Futcher told BBC Sport: “He picked something up.
“I don’t think it is too serious but we will have to see how it settles down.”
Heaven must remain patient for more opportunities to come his way at United.
After a January transfer from Arsenal, Heaven made four Premier League appearances under Ruben Amorim last season.
The young defender will be aiming for more game time throughout the season after being afforded just 67 minutes thus far.
United teammate Shea Lacey also played in the game, a 1-0 defeat for England.
