Ayden Heaven has been voted Manchester United’s Player of the Month for December 2025.

December was a tricky month for Manchester United, but Ayden Heaven has come away from it with an award for his incredible performances in the heart of defence.

Heaven was announced the winner of the award for his performance last month on Saturday morning, as confirmed by the official Manchester United website.

The 19-year-old was called upon by Ruben Amorim in the wake of injuries to both Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt, only to take the opportunity with open arms.

Heaven’s standout performance came in United’s 1-0 win over Newcastle on Boxing Day. The former Arsenal academy star showed maturity beyond his years, helping Amorim’s side keep a clean sheet with a man-of-the-match display in front of the Old Trafford faithful.

Senne Lammens came second in the voting for Player of the Month, with fellow new signing Matheus Cunha ranked third.

This marks the first time Heaven has won a Player of the Month award since joining United just under a year ago.

Ayden Heaven not distracted by international calls

Heaven’s rise to prominence has led to suggestions the English defender could switch allegiance to Ghana to play in next summer’s World Cup.

That is not part of the young centre back’s plans as he is set to focus on United until he gets a call-up from England, as per BBC Sport.

Heaven isn’t currently in the picture to get a call-up from Thomas Tuchel, but if he keeps performing as he did against Newcastle recently, it won’t be long before he is representing the Three Lions.

That makes Heaven one to watch closely in 2026 as he develops into a reliable force in defence.
