Axel Tuanzebe is set to sign for Luton Town on a free after being released by Manchester United.

According to The Mirror, Tuanzebe has agreed to join Premier League new boys Luton Town. This comes after the academy graduate left United this summer, following his contract running out.

There has been interest in the defender from teams in the EFL and even the Saudi League, but it appears he’ll still be playing Premier League football – only this time with the newly promoted side.

The ex-United star will link up with former teammate Tahith Chong at Kenilworth Road.

Axel Tuanzebe to join Luton Town

The 25-year-old will be a fine acquisition for Luton, who will certainly need him as they look to stay in the top flight.

Tuanzebe, despite his still moderately young age, has a wealth of experience playing in big fixtures, which has included Champions League games.

Most notoriously, Tuanzebe pocketed Kylian Mbappe when the Red Devils faced PSG, in what was definitely his finest moment in a red shirt.

The problem from here for Tuanzebe was he never got the chance to really build on this. He started the next Champions League away game and he was absolutely abysmal.

Tuanzebe was substituted at half-time and United lost the game, and he never really regained Solskjaer’s trust, or any other manager since him for that matter.

What Tuanzebe will bring to Luton

In a side that’s desperate for Premier League-proven players, Tuanzebe will be a stable force at the back for the Hatters.

Although he never made it big at United, he always looked like a competent centre-half, who can definitely hold his own in the Premier League – as proven at Aston Villa.

You never know, this may kickstart the English defender’s career once again. We wish him all the best!
