Atletico Madrid striker Matheus Cunha has reacted to Manchester United signing his Brazilian compatriot Antony from Ajax.
The Red Devils completed the signing of Ajax’s former number 11 today and Antony has been reunited with his former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag and teammate Lisandro Martinez, following his move to Old Trafford.
The 22-year-old becomes Manchester United’s fifth summer signing and our second most expensive acquisition of all-time behind only Paul Pogba (£89m).

In order to land the much-coveted nine-time Brazil international, United are set to pay the reigning Eredivisie champions a guaranteed €95m (£81.3m), plus €5m (£4.2m) in add-ons.
But after signing Antony from Sau Paulo for Ajax two years ago, Ten Hag identified the South American, who is one of the most talented players in world football, as his primary forward target during the summer transfer window.

Another Brazilian that the twenty-time league champions were linked with this summer was the 23-year-old Cunha.
ESPN’s Julien Laurens was the journalist who broke the news that the Red Devils were interested in signing the Atletico striker.
However, a move for the former Hertha Berlin striker, who was previously signed by RB Leipzig, following a recommendation from United’s former interim boss Ralf Rangnick, didn’t come to fruition.
The Atletico striker is highly regarded by international teammate Antony, who talked up his ability in a YouTube interview with PlayStation in May.
The pair were part of the Brazil side that won a gold medal at the Olympics last summer, and they have played alongside one and other 19 times for their country at different levels.
After officially completing his move to Manchester United, Cunha showed how highly he rates his fellow countryman with a comment on Antony’s Instagram post.
Cunha commented: “What a player.”
Cunha is yet to start for Diego Simeone’s Atletico this season, playing just 34 minutes across three matches.
Atletico’s number nine isn’t heading to Old Trafford this summer, but he looks to be delighted that his good friend has secured his very own dream move to the Theatre of Dreams.
