Former Manchester United captain Ashley Young has urged Anthony Martial to seize the opportunity under Erik ten Hag and become the club’s main man.
Following last season’s disappointing campaign both at United and Sevilla, it was unclear whether the mercurial Frenchman would form a part of the Dutchman’s Old Trafford rebuild.

But the 26-year-old has been one of United’s standout performers during our pre-season tour, netting three goals and leading the line, in the absence of wantaway Cristiano Ronaldo.
The former Monaco man looks set to start the new campaign as Ten Hag’s first-choice striker, and Martial looks to be relishing playing alongside Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford.
Ashley Young urges Anthony Martial to seize opportunity

For the first time under the Dutchman, Manchester United failed to register a win after squandering a two-goal lead against Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa in Perth yesterday.
A last-gasp header from Callum Chambers meant the game with the Villains finished 2-2.
The clash against the Premier League side saw former Reds man Young come up against some of his former teammates.

The 37-year-old played alongside Martial 95 times during his eight-and-a-half year stay at the Theatre of Dreams before joining Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan and winning the Scudetto.
Following yesterday’s clash Down Under, Martial and Young shared their love for one and other via Young’s Instagram account.
Martial responded to the post: “My Bro.”
The 30-time France international’s comment drew a response from United’s former number 18 and like the entire Manchester United fanbase, Young wants Martial to make the number nine shirt his own and fire spearhead United’s charge back to the top.
Young, who made 261 appearances for the Reds and won the Premier League, FA Cup, Europa League and League Cup, replied: “Was good to see you my bro and thanks for your shirt, good luck for the season bro and it’s about time you occupied that No9 shirt.”
