Antony is the new star of Old Trafford after a goalscoring debut in Manchester United’s win over Arsenal.
And while it’s easy to get swept up in his instant success, Antony is very appreciative of the players around him.
The Brazilian sent a message on Instagram to Marcus Rashford, who provided the pass for his debut strike.
‘Thanks for the assistance bro’, Antony wrote, delighted at being presented with a one on one chance on his debut, which he made the most of.

Antony hails Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo applauded Antony’s goal from the bench. It was a moment which had the whole of Old Trafford on their feet.
Early in the second half, Antony was taken off, still a little behind on his fitness, and was replaced by Cristiano Ronaldo, who had a big smile as he greeted his new teammate.
Antony wrote a message to Ronaldo on Instagram, which simply read: ‘Idolo’.
The one word exchange was even reported by Portuguese newspaper Record, which wrote of Antony, “he made his admiration for the Portuguese striker very clear.”
This was a show of respect towards Ronaldo, who made his memorable Manchester United debut (the first one) as a substitute back in 2003.
It won’t be long until Antony and Ronaldo are sharing a pitch together, and that could be a frightening prospect when they both really hit form.
Ronaldo is looking better and more adjusted to the team with each and every substitute performance, and he is putting himself in contention to start.
Antony is looking like a locked-in starter once he is fully fit, and whoever strikes up the best connection with him will get to lead the line.
Whether this is Rashford, Ronaldo, or Anthony Martial, it seems United now have real competition in attack for the season ahead.
