Antony will fit perfectly into Erik ten Hag’s system, says former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves.
Hargreaves spoke to BT Sport ahead of Manchester United’s game with Leicester, and talked up the Red Devils’ most expensive summer signing.
Antony clinched his £81 million move to Manchester United on transfer deadline day, and he will be eligible to make his debut against Arsenal this weekend.
The Brazil international rejoins Ten Hag, who signed him for Ajax from Sao Paulo in 2020.

Owen Hargreaves praises Antony
Owen Hargreaves told BT Sport that despite Antony’s attacking quality, it is his willingness to defend and press from the front which makes him stand out.
He explained: “One thing people don’t know about him is he’s brilliant from the press. From the front, he can initiate the press.
“He gives you a bit of entertainment. United fans are going to love him. He gives you goals, assists, hes got tricks, he’s got personality.
“Winning the ball back in the final third is a big thing in Erik ten Hag’s system. He will fit like a glove.”
The best part of the move is that Ten Hag knows for a fact that Antony will work in his system, as he has already proved it at Ajax.
Antony will help to set the standard, and actually make life easier for his Manchester United teammates.
It would not be a surprise if Ten Hag threw him straight in against Arsenal this weekend. Antony will be desperate to get started right away and show what he can do.
