Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has returned to group training ahead of Thursday’s crucial Europa League showdown against Real Sociedad.
The 26-year-old has missed the Red Devils last six games after coming off with a back problem against Everton earlier in the month.
United’s number nine was replaced by Cristiano Ronaldo on the half hour mark at Goodison Park and the 37-year-old would go on to score the winner, which was his 700th goal in club football.

The former Monaco man has picked up three different injuries since Erik ten Hag took the reins, but the mercurial Frenchman has already shown how devastating he can be under the Dutchman.
After impressing in pre-season, the 30-time France international has three goals and two assists from four appearances this season, but Martial has only played 133 minutes of football during the 2022-23 campaign.
Martial, who spent the second half of last season on loan at La Liga side Sevilla, hasn’t played more than 45 minutes in a game this season and Ten Hag will likely ease him back into action to prevent a fourth injury setback.
Anthony Martial returns to Manchester United training
Ahead of United’s trip to San Sebastian on Thursday, where United need to beat Sociedad by a two-goal margin to top Group E and avoid a play-off against a Champions League side, Martial has been pictured returning to group training at Carrington.
In today’s training highlights, Victor Lindelof and Antony who missed yesterday’s 1-0 win against West Ham United were not pictured back in training alongside Martial.

Lindelof missed out through illness which meant club captain Harry Maguire started for the first time since mid-August and Antony was ruled out due to a small leg injury.
The Brazilian had started every game for the Reds since making his move from Ajax prior to missing out against the Irons.
